Should I read your ski romance before or after my ski holiday?

Look, if you get Pick Me Up as a Christmas gift (from numbers I’m assuming someone has), then I think you should get going as soon as you can! Of course I’m going to say that!
I think that if you’re a first time skier, you should read to the bit where Bonnie is still enjoying herself and then stop before you get to the fall! I know from reviews that the setting is one of the best parts of Pick Me Up so that should be enough to convince you to keep skiing!
Even if you aren’t going on a ski holiday this year (there aren’t any trips to the Alps, the Pyrenees or the Rockies on the cards for me, sadly), at least you can take yourself back to those afternoons spent sweeping down the slopes, sat on deckchairs and/or sunning yourself with a cool glass of mountainous wine.
Once you’ve booked your holiday, wherever you’re going, take a copy of Pick Me Up! Of course, if you’re heading off to La Plagne or Les Arcs in the Haute Savioe region, there are real tips in Pick Me Up! La Bergerie, Croq’Neige, the traditional French restaurant in Plagne Centre (I haven’t named it but it’s Chez Marie), the boarder cross, the slope where Nick and Bonnie fall and the Igloo bar are all real places and I’d recommend a visit beyond any other holiday.
If you’ve been skiing before, dive straight in. Reviewers have said the following:
“And I loved that this book made me feel like I was back on the slopes, with soft powdery snow flying beneath my feet, while a cold, fresh wind made my cheeks pink. The setting was so vivid and realistic, and added so much charm to the story.”
“I was instantly transported back to the one ski trip I've ever been on. I could smell the snow! hear the skiers! feel the warmth of hot chocolate!”
Going back to if you’re not a skier or snowboarder, or a romantic, come to think of it, put it on your bucket list!! Go on a ski trip!! Feel the wind in your hair!! Taste the hot chocolate! Meet your soulmate on a ski slope!
Just some holiday advice,
